As an international company specialising in bioprocess design for sustainable energy solutions, we engage with the world through international consortia, in person through the web and in conferences and through patented technology.

October 2012: Pan Pacific to present web seminar on bioprocess development

Pan Pacific Technologies (PPT) has been invited by AspenTech to give an online seminar on our success as a SME in bioprocess modeling. PPT uses aspenOne Engineering Desktop to model  carbon sequestration for the production of advanced biofuels from algae. Our process model is becoming recognised internationally as highly innovative and flexible with a diverse range of applications. In this webinar PPT will discuss how it created thermodynamic data for new compounds and managed the challenges presented by modeling on a large scale. It will also discuss how it overcame the challenges to build a functioning model which is capable of managing chemical, technical and economic elements to create the optimal techno-economic process model.

To learn more about this webinar, to be held on Wednesday 24th October, and to register for it, please visit AspenTech's website. AspenTech has also written a case study (.pdf opens in new window) about our ground-breaking modeling using Aspen Plus.

July 2012: Pan Pacific makes presentation on its research at  two international conferences -

"Modelling for Commercial-scale Algal Biorefinery Design- Modelling Light Penetration in Bioreactor Systems" presented by Eric H. Dunlop at 8th Asia-Pacific Conference on Algal            Biotechnology, Adelaide, Australia, July 9-12, 2012.

"Modeling Light Penetration in Algal Bioreactors" by Eric H. Dunlop at 2nd International       Conference on Algal Biomass, Biofuels and Bioproducts, San Diego, 10-13 June, 2012.

July 2012: Pan Pacific lodges new patent application to add to its suite of algal platform technology and process development

Provisional Patent Application filed with USPTO on July 28 2012. Title: Processes and Systems for Production of Biofuels from Algae. Serial No. 61/676,848.

April 2012: Dr. José Olivares, Executive Director of NAABB, welcomes Pan Pacific Technologies' new partnership with NAABB in an interview with Algae Industry Magazine.

April 2012: Pan Pacific Technologies joins National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts (NAABB)

Pan Pacific Technologies is the newest member of NAABB, a 40 organization consortium of leading scientists and engineers from universities, private industry, and national laboratories working to further the U.S. Department of Energy’s effort to spur the creation of the domestic biofuels industry while creating jobs .

Pan Pacific Technologies is one of only two international members in the consortium. Pan Pacific brings experience in advanced computer modeling and simulations for system designs, operations including downstream processing and process economics to the Sustainability Team.

“Pan Pacific brings a wealth of experience in understanding the economic viability of algal biofuels technologies, which will help to evaluate technologies from consortium members and the economics of their development for a sustainable biofuels industry. We are fortunate to have them as a member of our team” said José A. Olivares, NAABB Executive Director.
