An Integrated Systems Approach 

We recognize the importance of an integrated approach to conceptual process design that provides an advanced systems level framework for the evaluation of commercial-scale production of biofuels in particular from algae. Pan Pacific Technologies’ approach has been reviewed by a leading engineering company (WorleyParsons) and, more recently, by a major corporation in Abu Dhabi in the field of renewable energy sources and clean, sustainable technology. Our approach is recognised for its innovative bioprocess engineering solutions, sophisticated economic analyses, and sustainable resource management including carbon mitigation in the energy sector.

Our integrated systems approach includes:

  • ASPEN Plus simulations of the conceptual process design of algal biofuels production. 
  • COMSOL Multiphysics simulation for light penetration into algal suspensions, fluid mechanics and process kinetics.
  • Process Economics models drawing on industry experience and scientific research.
  • Downstream bioprocess systems design and delivery, including flocculation and cell lysis on an industrial scale.
